上海证券有限责任公司（以下简称“公司”）成立于2001年5月，注册资本金26.1亿元人民币，股东单位为上海国际集团有限公司和上海国际信托有限公司。公司是首批全国创新类证券公司之一，也是上海国际集团核心成员企业之一。
公司现拥有各类专业人员1000余人，营业网点56家，已形成以上海为中心，北京、深圳、重庆、温州、南京、杭州等发达城市为主体的经营网络。公司资产质量优良，业务资格齐备。公司下属现有海际大和证券有限责任公司和海证期货有限公司两家子公司。公司于2007年正式受让中富证券有限责任公司证券类资产，实现了公司业务在地域和规模上的快速扩张，进一步推动了公司的战略发展。
